Since the beginning of Modi Boxi, we’ve continued to evolve not just the system itself but also how we support the creators and businesses building around it.
When we first launched our commercial reseller license, we started with a 2-year commercial license model. As the community grew and we made changes to the product, we expanded the license to 3 years to provide more stability and flexibility for resellers.
Today, we’re excited to announce the next step in that evolution:
Modi Boxi commercial licenses are now moving to a perpetual lifetime commercial license model to match Modi Case going forward.
Even better, this is being provided as a free upgrade to all existing commercial resellers.
We’ve always believed that if someone invests in building a business around Modi Boxi, we should support that investment long term. Moving to a perpetual model simplifies things for everyone, removes renewal concerns, and better aligns with the broader Mod Innovations ecosystem's direction.
As part of this transition, we’ve also published our updated Commercial License Agreement v2.0, which includes updated language and clarifications designed to better support both Mod Innovations and our reseller community over the long term.

In particular, we encourage everyone to review Section 2.4, which introduces a termination clause for perpetual licenses. While we fully intend these licenses to remain long-term and stable, we also recognize that businesses, technologies, marketplaces, and legal environments can change over time in ways that are impossible to fully predict today.
The updated clause is designed to give us reasonable flexibility to adapt to future circumstances if necessary, while still providing strong protections and predictability for legitimate resellers operating in good faith. Our goal is not to create uncertainty, but to ensure we can continue to support the community and the platform responsibly for many years to come.

This change is another step toward making Modi Boxi and Modi Case a stronger, more sustainable platform for the long term.
