Modi Case

Modi Case is a modular, 3D-printable storage and carrying system designed for tabletop gamers, miniature hobbyists, card gamers, painters, and makers.

Unlike a traditional storage box, Modi Case opens like a hinged case, giving you easy access to everything inside. Its modular system of racks, trays, holders, doors, and accessories lets you build a case around exactly what you need to store, organize, transport, and use.

Create dedicated cases for miniatures, paints and hobby supplies, TCG decks and cards, board games, tools, or almost anything else. When your needs change, you can reconfigure, expand, and customize your setup by printing new components.

With hundreds of 3D-printable files and nearly endless configurations, Modi Case lets you build the case you need instead of adapting your gear to a one-size-fits-all case.

Modi Boxi and Modi Case are both modular, 3D-printable storage systems, but they solve different storage needs.

Modi Boxi is an open-ended, highly customizable storage system that lets you build in almost any direction and continually expand or reconfigure your setup.

Modi Case provides a more structured, case-based system designed around specific loadouts and uses. It keeps everything organized together in a defined setup that can be opened for easy access, used at the table, and closed for storage or transport.

A simple way to think about it: Modi Boxi is like a kitchen drawer, while Modi Case is like a kitchen cabinet. Both organize your things, but in different ways.

Modi Case is designed to work with most standard consumer 3D printers. Most Medium Modi Case parts can be printed on a printer with a bed size of at least 180x180mm. For Large Modi Case parts, we recommend a printer with a bed size of at least 230x230mm.

If you want the most flexibility to print the full range of Modi Case parts, trays, racks, doors, and accessories, we recommend a printer with a bed size of at least 230x230mm.

After you purchase Modi Case, you will receive access to download the STL files. Your download includes the files included with the pack you purchased, along with the latest available updates.

Yes! We provide instructions to help you print, assemble, and configure your Modi Case builds. The instructions are regularly updated as we add new parts, features, improvements, and tips from the builder community.

Yes! We are constantly improving Modi Case based on testing and feedback from our builder community.

We version our files and regularly release fixes, improvements, new variations, and quality-of-life updates. Your purchase entitles you to free updates to any Modi Case pack you own.

We announce new versions, fixes, and beta files through our Discord community and website.

Most of our Modi Case testing has been done using the following settings:

• Nozzle: 0.4mm
• Layer Height: 0.2mm
• Walls: 2
• Filament: PLA
• Infill: 15%
• Infill Pattern: Grid
• Bed Temperature: 60°C
• Nozzle Temperature: 220°C

These are recommended starting points. You may need to adjust temperatures or other settings depending on your printer and filament.

Modi Case is designed to be 3D printable without traditional supports and does not require purchased hinges or other specialty hardware for standard builds.

The system uses printable components, including Modi Rails, racks, bolts, connectors, handles, and other modular parts, so you can print and assemble your case yourself.

Yes. Modi Case includes access to the Modi Tray Maker, which allows you to create custom trays for your specific needs.

You can design trays around items such as miniatures, paints, gaming components, and other equipment, then generate files to print for your Modi Case or Modi Boxi setup.

The standard Modi Case license is for personal use and does not allow you to sell printed Modi Case products.

If you want to sell physical prints, you will need a Modi Case Commercial License. Commercial licenses allow approved resellers to print and sell physical products made from the covered Modi Case files, subject to the terms of the license.
