How To Build a 3D Printable Fishing Tackle Storage Solution With Modi Boxi & Modi Case

Trapper here. As one of the creators of Modi Boxi, I'm always looking for ways to add more Modi to my life. As an avid bass fisherman, I'm always looking for better ways to store my tackle. We build Modi Boxi and now Modi Case for games, but it can do so much more than that. 

As we've been developing Modi Case, I knew from the start I wanted to build out a new tackle storage option. My previous tackle storage using Modi Boxi consisted of a triple drawer build, along with two Large cages. The drawers hold some lures, and the Boxis in cages hold all the soft plastics. 

This worked really well, but the boxes were a bit haphazard, and many things were just piled in there. With Modi Case, I knew I could be alot more specific about what could go where and put together something that had way more utility. 

To be clear: This isn't a Modi Case build that you take to the river. This is storage in my house that I use to keep everything as the seasons change. When you fish, you fill your box with what you need based on the weather, water temperature, and target species. I use a little waterproof tackle box that I take to and from the rivers and ponds. It looks like this:

Everything that is not in this little carrier needs a place to live, and Modi Case is now that solution. 

Here is my fishing tackle Modi Case build! It is a large Modi Case level 3. It has two lower DIY trays for the soft plastics, and a range of top drawers for crank baits, jerk baits, and swim baits!

Now, everything has a nice place to live! I can easily store and access all my tackle as the season changes and populate my river box with ease! 

After I printed this box, Jeff invented what we lovingly call the BEAST HANDLES so that the entire thing is more sturdy if you need to carry it around!

The beast handle is awesome and is super secure with large builds and lots of weight. Can you see all those other orange boxes stacked in the background on the right? Those are now all EMPTY thanks to my Modi Case build!
